OOC: No one was posting here so I took it upon myself to make a thread.
IC: A strong, cold wind blew through a tiny, unnamed hamlet in England. In a well lit tavern a man had just entered, he was ancient, grizzled, with a face like a tree and a voice like an angel. "Now gather round, gather round, and I'll tell ye the story of the Total Immortal." And he began to sing. **** In a town so much like the one mentioned previously a woman had just entered, she was short, slender, and had once been finely dressed. Her clothes were ripped and muddy and mud and blood smeared her face and neck, it looked as though she had been crying. "It burns! Help me!" She screamed, begged.

A tall man stod quickly and supported her to a stool. "Water, NOW!" He poured something out of a bottle and haded it to her. "Drink this first, it'll warm you and wake you up." He shook the hysterical woman violently and yelled. "God dammit what happened!! Tell us so we can help you!"

"It all went dark... everything... and thne all I felt was pain... Oh God." She slumped forward in his arms, tears streaking down her face as she struggled to breathe. "We were pasing through the woods, we had to carry it to the church but They wanted it." She felt through her dress and smiled, "It's still here." She whispered.

"What is it? What were you carrying? How amny were there?" He fired questions quickly needing to know the answers. Finally he slowed down and asked the questions calmly. "We have to know. Please, we'll do justice if we can."

The woman reached into a pocket in her dress and pulled out a small platinum amulet and handed it to him. It was a plain oval shape with a firy gem in the center surrounded by the figure of a dragon, "There are too many to count. Please, I need to bring this to Italy, It needs to reach the Vatican."

"The VATICAN?! As in the Pope?!" the man's jaw dropped and he shook his head in disbelief. "Why? What is it?!?!" The bartender brought water and some food in case she was hungry. "Put it on my tab. Now, tell me what that is and where you were attacked."

"I's a very powerful oject from a very long way away." She stated, she seemed to have regained a measure of calm, "They attacked us in the forest, killed my gaurd, I just made it out. I need to get it away."

"Torvik, raise the militia. Go check the forest for any survivors." The people around him jumped to life and horns sounded through the town. "I'm staying to make sure she gets a a bed and decent meal. Harod, get her a room and a bath. I'll stand guard for her until she leaves. No doubt she'll be eager to get out of here soon."

"Thank ou very much monseiur....?" She looked up at him, "I am Beatrice, by the way, my apologies for putting you at any inconvenience but it is imperative that I reach Italy." she smiled briefly and felt at her neck, "Oh good, nothing too bad."

"It is no problem Beatrice. Please, say for at least a day. Eat and get cleaned up. Resupply and we'll make sure you get there in good health." He bowed slightly and smiled. "And the name is Virgil."

"The pleasure is mine Monsieur Virgil." She said with a slight bow of her neck which illiceted a rather pained look, "Ow. Should've ducked." She muttered, reaching into another pocket for a rather heavy purse and extracting several gold pieces, "This should cover any small debts, my thanks again monsieur. But where is the bath? this blood and mud is rather annoying."

"Its right this way." He lead her out of the inn to an area fenced in by a very lage fence. "Its a hot spring. Thoe women's is on the ledt. Clean up, I'll have Mrs. Smith bring you a pair of my sister's clothes. You can wear them until we can get you something you're more familiar with. After this we're seeing a doctor, you're favoring your neck, so its better safe than sarry." He bowed and smiled at the woman. "Enjoy your bath lady Beatrice." He turned and left to fetch a pair of clothes.

"THank you for everything." Beatrice said, smiling and waiting until he ahd left to take off her clothing and set it carefully nearby, while she was bathing she pulled out the small amulet and wrapped it around her wrist, just in case. She was just finishing when Virgil appeared again carrying a pile of clothing. She blushed slightly and ducked as far as she could into the water under the pretext of cleaning her beautiful golden hair.

Virgil set the clothes and a towel down and turned his back. "Sorry, Mrs. Smith is the midwife here and she got called away." He shrugged at the comment in helplessness. "The doctor is waiting inside for you." Quickly he went inside to wait with the doctor with the faintest blush playing across his features.

Two guards came in carrying a man. He had long brown hair, under his green cloth there was a chain shirt that could be seen. There was a long scar under his left eye, and he was bleeding from many places. "This one was found in the woods, He had no weapons just a wooden staff." THe guards set the man down on the doctors patient bed. He was barley awake and looked over at the guards. "Did you find a maiden, her name was Beatrice, is she safe?"

"Yes she is." Beatrice said, walking in in the plain brown clothing, "It is good to see you made it." She smiled and sat down, running a hand along the cut on her neck with a wince, "It'll heal soon enough, and so should you." She glanced up at the doctor briefly, "How long will it take him to recover, I would like to leave shortly."

"You're resting and eating first, now let the doctor check you over. You're friend'll be fine in a day or so." Virgil sat her down and let the doctor begin checking her neck. "So, how do you know the guy? Friend? Brother? ...Husband?"

"Gaurd, and a very good friend." Beatrice replied, letting the doctor examine herripped and gouged neck, "IT missed all the arteries, it is not a bad wound monsieur." She said, still watching Virgil with her pretty blue eyes, "You wouldn't happen to know where I could find another group of gaurds would you? Mercenaries perhaps?"

"I've already arranged for the miltia to escort you to the channel. From there I will personally escort you. I'm afraid most of the militia men aren't professional soldiers, so I can't as them to give up their lives to follow us." Virgil looked around the tavern. He wasn't tied to the town, but everyone else had wives and jobs and children to take care of. "We will leave as soon as possible."

Beatrice smiled while the doctor wrapped up her neck, "My thanks to you again. You are giving up much following us." She held out her arms so that the doctor could examine the various cuts and bruises covering them, "Please, I am not very injured. I insist that you tend to my companion first."

Virgil nodded to the doctor, who was preparing to bandage Beatrice's neck. "Tend to him, he needs you more. Ican bandage a wound this small." Gently he covered the wound in an herbal salve and wrapped a clean white cloth around her neck. "It'll be good as new in a few days. Come." He led her up to a room and opened the door. "Rest, you've been through much."

Sitting in the shadows over in the corner of the room, a small man watched silently. His frame just reached 5'5", and his shoulder-length brown hair covered his face. He stood up, cradling a cup of wine and never looked behind him. This was a man of extreme focus, and exuded danger that his body didnt quite match up with. As he neared the man with staff and Virgil, he dodged to the leftand sent his right arm straight out beside him with a speed that was almost frightening. With the sudden movement, the other people in the building all jumped up to see what was going on. In the mans right hand was a lock of hair connected to the head of a would-be assassin who had meant to kill Virgil and the man he was speaking with. "let me go!" yelled the captured man at the small person with his hand wrapped in his hair. He then tried to rip free and stab this interloper in his affairs, but before he could, the man kicked his legs out from under him and slammed his head onto a table, putting him to sleep. "Hello. My name is Lews." Said the small man, and then took a sip of his wine, of which he hadnt spilled a drop.

Bear looked up at the lew, as he rested there. "who are you?!" Bear was slowly getting up. He looked around for some kind of staff so he could defend himself from any attacker.

"I am Lews Therin," the small man answered, "I am a mercenary of sorts, currently on the ...payroll of the Vatican." Suddenly there was a noise at the table which Lews had been sitting, and a small voice called out from beneath it. "Daddy? Are you okay?" said the voice. It apparently belonged to a six year old girl. "Yes Agarwaen, I'm fine. Come on out, dear. This is Agarwaen, my daughter. She goes everywhere with me."

Beatrice smiled faintly when she saw the little girl, "Well well Lews, I didn't think I'd see you for a long time." She said, smiling down at the little girl, face falling when she edged away, "I can't believe you've never told her." Beatrice said rather coldly, glancing down at the little girl.

"I'm here to keep you from getting yourself killed." Lews answered icily while cleverly evading her question. "I'ts not as if I ever really expected to have to introduce the two of you."

Bear relaxed a bit and sat back down on the bed. "Lew, i am bear. Beatrice's guard and friend." Most of his cut had been taken care of by the doctors, and the bleeding had stopped. Turning to gurads he asked. "did you men get my staff with my body? it would have been made of metal?"

Beatrice narrowed her eyes, "I don't need your help. I'm fine by myself thank you." She turned away from him, feeling thoroughly miserable and turned toward Bear, "I saw it a moment it was brought in I think... ah... here it is." She reached under the chair she was sitting in and pulled out the long metal staff.

Agarwaen braced herself for the explosion that was sure to follow. She may have only been six, but she was alarmingly perceptive, and knew that her father was not fond of people "suggesting" that he do anything. Agarwaen decided to go talk with the lady instead. Lews didnt notice her move. "Now you listen to me, you pitiful excuse for a guardsman: I am under direct orders from the Vatican in Rome to make sure this bloody troublesome woman doesnt get herself killed! And if you plan on making me leave, well, that will take more men than you have at your dispos... Agarwaen! What are doing?! Get away from her!" His beloved daughter was in the midst of a conversation with the one person on the planet who could possibly take her away from him.
