"A coal cellar would be nice, anywhere away from the light." Aria smiled slightly, barely, and kept going, "Wish I could lug that bloody coffin down there though. That would be nice." She trailed off and turned to face him fully, "Thank you." She said, sincerely grateful for everything he had done for her.

He shrugged. "Fair is fair. I need to build up some good karma, and as do you. We agree to disagree, it seems."

"I have yet to disagree with anything you've said. In fact I'm rather envious... Well, sometimes anyway." The had reached a small cliff. "The best way around it is a mile that way." Aia pointed east calmly and stepped toward the edge, "I'll meet you below." She stepped off and landed easily what must have been four stories below.

He picked his way down the cliff-face, and continued after her. "You know, that can't be good for your ankles and knees at all." he said conversationally.

He easily caught up to her and settled into a ground-eating stride. "So, once the sun rises, you need to be in a dark area. If you don't like the coal cellar, you could always dig up a grave, I suppose, or break into somewhere."

He pointed her off down the street. "That is where you last left her. Now, excuse, I am going to return home." He wandered off down the street, and turned the corner. He ventured into a set of alleys. He took a series of movements that resulted in 43 turns, 21 backtracks, 6 u-turns, 17 points where he left the ground, 3 times of leaving and entering the city, and a half an hour of walking. Satisfied he had thrown off the trail, he unbolted eight deadbolts, fourteenlocks, three pins, six sliding bolts, two wedges, and a chain. He entered his house, redid the locks, and went upstairs.

"Goodbye." She said, heading off toward the club, she slunk down and found Victoria easily, "Well hello there, fancy seeing you again? Look, if you head up the mountain and.. "She gave the girl precise instructions for where to find the cave, "A few of my kind are there. Just show them the amulet and they'll let you in, no questions asked. I'll meet you in the evening." She smiled and left the building, jumping along roofs until she found and began to follow the sarafan, "Think yu can loose me that easily?" She whispered, into the night, watching the building carefully.

Aria watched him carefully through a window as he poured a drink and as he fell asleep, sliding into the building just before the first rays of light peered over the buildings. She moved slowly, quietly, into his room, "Windowless, perfect." She thought, reaching out and grabbing hold of his wrist. She examined it carefully, akiong sure he didn't awake before she sank her long, needlelike fangs into a vein. After a few minutes she set the wrist back and shook him awake, "I have drained you to the point of death. Now choose whether you'd like to be dead or not. Choose wisely."

His eyes snapped open. "Let. Go. Of. Me." These words were pronounced clearly, but rasped out, and coldly. That primal instincts drilled into him by his training began to sink in, as he slipped into the narrow focus of a hunting sarafan.

She gazed into his eyes, "I gave you the choice I never had, to live as one of my kin, or to perish.... It isn't so bad... death... not bad at all." She tightened her superhuman grip on his wrist.

Look, if you don't want to come I understand but the Sarafan would sooner see you killed then recognize you as a brother. And if you don't feed you'll go mad." She shook her head and started out, "If you decide you aren't coming I'd suggest either discarding all your old weapons or putting them to good use."

He stood at the top of the stairs for a while, then ventured into his kitchen, after closing the door. He needed a drink. He poured himself a snifter a brandy, swirled it, and took a spit. It sat in his mouth for half a second, until he spat it out on the floor, incredulously. He swore, and threw it against the wall, the liquor and cystal pooling on the floor. He sat at the table for a long time, looking at the sky, guaging his time. Never to see the sun again....
He sighed, got up, and followed after her.

Aria was waiting at the end of the street, "You should feed before we leave the city." I'll be waiting in here."

Running, and leaping scares them." she walked casually until they finally left the large, still glowing city, "The day has jkust begun. Behold the children of the night." She smiled and waved an arm around, bats flew crazily above her, "We need to run, it won't be hard." She grinned and set off at an inhuman pace up the mountain.

Victoria had heard Aria right and clutched her amulet closely as she made her way towards the cave she'd described. "I hope I'm doing the right thing..." she said, looking down at the amulet for comfort. "Guide me grandfather... protect me..." she asked it and it glowed irredescently, making her feel warm again. 'As long as you hold this Victoria, you will never worry again' grandfather had told her. And she didn't intend on parting with it, no matter what.
